Total Recall: A different direction

According to director Len Wiseman, the new Total Recall remake - starring Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale (in a rare villainous role) - is going in a "different direction" from the original film. Maybe that's a good thing? Check out the interview HERE and then come back to let us know your thoughts on the matter. I'm all for remakes like this when plenty of time has passed and the film is approached from a different angle, with updated effects. Worst case scenario, then, is either I like the original more, or don't like the remake at all. What I can't stand are remakes that happen after only a few years, that are virtually the same film. The recent, and unnecessary "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" remake is a prime example of this. What do you think?
